Maritime Construction
The business has established a maritime construction arm revolving around the construction of boat ramps, jetty’s wharfs and boat sheds. We have access to a pile driver capable of driving/drilling up to 350mm dia piles and a barge allowing for both shoreline and waterline construction. Using our existing excavation equipment, sizable projects are accomplished with ease.
We have a full range of accessories and design facilities (REVIT/AutoCAD) and are able to produce the exact jetty you require. We are aware of restraints and guidelines concerning jetty, wharf and revetment wall construction. We can assist with any private encumbrance approvals or local council approvals and liaise with the Department of Environment if it is required.
We have developed a sales cycle that will ensure no nasty surprises come up in terms of relevant authorities not being adequately notified.
Our Maritime construction services are built in conjunction with the following guide’s acts and standards:
- Marina and Mooring Structure Development along the River Murray in South Australia
- AS 3962-2001 Guidelines for design of marinas
- AS 1604 Timber Preservation Standards
- DPTI Part 450W Timber Work
- DPTI Part 455W Sundries
- BCA Timber Framing Code
- Concreting Code (when boat ramps are constructed)
Engineering
Depending on the size and location of a project, engineering may be required. We have access to a quality engineer who focusses on the requirements of structures to meet code and legislation in the marine environment.
Our engineer can also be used at design phase to ensure all ideas can be built into the finished projects.
Photos of past projects are available upon request.
